NBA Great Terry Cummings - From The Hardwood To The Studio PDF Print E-mail
Is there life after basketball? Some head for the golf course while others go for the wrestling ring.
Terry Cummings on the other hand decided to write, arrange, and put together a CD. Terry sings a combination of secular and gospel, much like the Reverend Al Green, who happens to be one of Terry's musical influences.
Terry enters the world of music with his debut album “Nothing Is What It Seems”. Terry Cummings grew up in the Chicago area where he became an ordained minister at the age of 16 and played for DePaul University before joining the NBA in 1982. He has played for such franchises as the Clippers, Bucks, Spurs, Sonics, 76ers, Knicks and Warriors. He is one of only eight players in the history of the NBA to play eighteen years and finished his career in 2000 having scored 19,460 points and pulled down 8,630 rebounds in 1,183 games.
Terry's marketing manager, Renee Atkins, tells the Chittlin Circuit the release date for the CD is August 23, 2005 but, we have a sample of the CD here on the site (see below). You will be hearing more from Terry on the music trail as he joins the likes of Frankie Beverly and Maze and Ronnie Laws. Terry will be touring the country, so check back to see if he will be in your city or town. Stay Tuned!
