 More often than not, American roots music is defined and characterized as having emanated from folk, gospel and blues. Country Music seems to embrace all of these musical influences while relating explicitly to life's most basic emotions and experiences. Beverly Ellis is a new, refreshing country singer who represents this to it's fullest.
 Growing up as a young African American girl in the small town of Durant, Mississippi, she learned to sing all the music of the day. From the traditional and heartfelt emotions of the gospel music of her youth to the strains of the great songs by such country music greats as Pasty Cline, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and others. Beverly is craving her own way. She is a dynamic personality with charm and wit. She never meets a stranger and on stage is explosive and exciting, winning over the audience from the very first downbeat.
