In a conversation I had with long time friend, international Jazz Journalist Patricia Myers I was informed of a Monday evening Jazz jam session. Every Monday this session brings back the memories of fifty years ago when my friend Andy and I listened to Jazz till 4AM at Birdland in New York City. This was the premier Jazz club of the 50’s and 60’s, when of course after being up all night we had to cut school the next day.
Now back to the present, Kazimierz World Wine Bar in Scottsdale, AZ echoes a true Jazz sound from a local recording artist by the name of Tony Vacca listen to some of his tracks in the Juke Box at www.chittlincircuit.com. Also appearing live was a sensational Jazz recording artist named Margo Reed whom I have followed for the last 25 years. You wouldn’t believe the back up band consisting of Joel Robin Goldenthalon piano (executive director of Jazz in Arizona) in my opinion future Grammy winner Andy Margolis, Dennis Rolland and approximately 20 other talented musicians. This little Jazz spot was a little hard to find, but it was well worth my while. If you have a Jazz CD that you would like for me to take a listen to and review just contact me at
