Bill Coday
It comes with great saddness that we have to report that long time blues man Bill Coday passed away last night about 8:30pm in a local hospital in Memphis, TN.  Anna Coday (Bill's wife) tells the Chittlin Circuit that Bill was to go to the recording studio Monday to record a new single.

Born May 10, 1942 in Coldwater, Mississippi, Bill spent his younger years in Arkansas until he moved to Chicago in the early 1960's. It was in Chicago that Bill was discovered by "The Queen" Denise Lasalle. Bill was signed to Denise's Label and recorded several singles. It was 1971 when Bill's first hit "Get Your Lies Straight" set Bill's career in high gear.

Bill then went on to record for Epic Records and Echo Records. He finally decided to get his own label B&J records based in Memphis, TN.

Bill was a close friend of the Chilltin Circuit and a personal friend of the Chittlin Circuit's editor. He will be missed greatly
