43rd Annual Medgar Evers/B.B. King Mississippi Homecoming PDF Print E-mail
It's happening again and this year's Mississippi Homecoming is something you don't want to miss!
The 43rd Annual Medgar Evers / B.B. King Mississippi Homecoming is set to kick off Friday June 2nd with our Gospel Memorial Service featuring some of Jacktown's finest inspirational singers like the Rev. Joe A. Washington (Hoochie Mama Goes to Church) The Mississippi Afrocentric Dance & Drum Corp, The Maddrama Theatre Group and several area choirs! After that the party heads up to Decatur, MS! That's right the birthplace of Medgar Evers! This year the first blues concert will be held at the East Central Community College Huff Auditorium. It's going to be a bittersweet time because this is a place Medgar could never have gone as a child and now they're being invited there to honor his memory! My, how some things have changed. The theme of this years Homecoming is "Living The Legacy"

After the first show in Decatur we're heading North to Pickens, MS! That's right, Tri-County Entertainment Center which last year hosted the final performance between B.B. King & the late Little Milton Campbell is doing it up again this year!

Featured performers for this years Blues Fest are
The King of the Blues B.B. King
Dorothy Moore
Reggie P. and
Sterling Williams

It's going to be off the hook and you don't want to miss it. The Parade on Saturday June 3rd will feature some of the country's finest performances and floats decorated in true "Southern Soul Style"!
