This past weekend Sir Charles and his band traveled home from Gadsden, Alabama on Monday Morning going to each home destination. Ron "Ron Mac" McClaurin, Kevin Jeffrys and Steve Gunn each were headed back to Memphis, Tennessee. While driving home the un-expected happen.. the front wheel based and tire rod - slid completely off the van, making the van spin and roll for 100 yards ejecting Ron from the van. As the medic's arrived approx. 6:00 am Monday morning announcing the death of Ron McClaurin.

All of the details of the Auto accident which occured last night (Sunday May 14, 2006) but we do know that Sir Charles' New band were on their way back the Memphis, Tn., when one of the front tires blew out and caused the van they were traveling in to go off the road. Several members were injured but, one member Ron Mack, the keyboard player, was killed.

From his days with Ecko Records to present, Bill Coday hasn’t stopped. He continues to please his fans, but for Bill it all started over 45 years ago. That’s just how long he’s been recording and performing. Bill became nationally known in 1969 when he signed with Denise LaSalle’s Crajon Records label.
