Ike Turner
Ike Turner, whose role as one of rock's critical architects, died Wednesday at his home in suburban San Diego. He was 76.

"He did pass away this morning" at his home in San Marcos, in northern San Diego County, said Scott M. Hanover of Thrill Entertainment Group, which managed Turner's musical career.

There was no immediate word on the cause of death, which was first reported by celebrity Web site TMZ.com.

Turner managed to rehabilitate his image somewhat in his later years, touring around the globe with his band the Kings of Rhythm and drawing critical acclaim for his work. He won a Grammy in 2007 in the traditional blues album category for "Risin' With the Blues."

Lady Laura doing it at the Village Underground PDF Print E-mail

The Chittlin' Circuit is always on the look out for members to our team. Every now and then we hit it big when a artist decides to join the Chittlin' Circuit team. The last time we struck gold was the signing of Ms. Tia Carroll (Oakland, CA.) to the team.

Now from the opposite coast we have the pleasure to have Ms. Lady Laura spreading the word about the Chittlin Circuit Magazine in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut).

Laura lives on Long Island but she spends alot fo time at several night spots on Manhatten. Two spots in particular are the Village Underground and the club owned and operated by the singing duo Ashford and Simpson The Sugar Bar

Suzanne & The Blues Church on stage
The Chittlin Circuit was invited to B.B. King's in Hollywood, California last Saturday Setpember 8, 2008 to watch several Blues bands show off their stuff on stage. One of those bands was Suzanne & The Blues Church. Lead guitarist and bandleader Suzanne, is also a member of the disco duo band A Taste Of Honey with orginial member Janice-Marie. The band played a full set of songs with a mixture of Blues standards and orginial tunes. The Suzanne uptempo take on Shirley Brown's Sleep With One Eye Open would have made Shirley proud. The final tune, a Blues Church orginial Payday Loan helped end the set in grand style and was reason for the STANDING OVATION the band recieved upon closing. You can bet that as soon as the CD is ready we will get in added to our playlist on our Internet Radio Station..... You can view the complete photo set of our visit to the Hollywood B.B. King's Blues Club in our Photo Gallery
