From his days with Ecko Records to present, Bill Coday hasn’t stopped. He continues to please his fans, but for Bill it all started over 45 years ago. That’s just how long he’s been recording and performing. Bill became nationally known in 1969 when he signed with Denise LaSalle’s Crajon Records label. With Denise producing, they released “I Get High On Your Love” and “Sixty Minute Teaser.” But the song that really “put Bill on the map” was “Get Your Lie Straight,” also written and produced by Denise.
This song soared to the top of the R&B charts in 1971 and secured Bill’s place at the top of the R&B field. Later, Bill signed with Ecko Records out of Memphis, TN and released three CDs: Sneakin’ Back in 1996, Can’t Get Enough in 1997 and Put Me in the Mood in 1999. Bill Coday’s Tribute to Johnnie Taylor, “We’re Gonna Miss You Johnnie,” is a timely masterpiece with the Johnnie flava that only Bill could deliver. The strong sincere lyrics and his heartfelt emotions make this recording one that will stir the soul of music fans everywhere. Dear to our hearts at the “Chittlin’ Circuit Magazine” is Bill’s single, “On the Chittlin’ Circuit.” Now, Bill is back with a new release, “Jump Start” and the launch of his new record label B & J Records. The label already has three very talented artists signed and expecting releases on all of them before spring. |
