It has been just over one year since the passing of blues singer Jackie Neal. It was March 10, 2005 that Jackie was shot and killed by her ex-boyfirend, James White. James White has since been sentenced to life in prison plus fifty years.
Jackie's memory still lives on as her nephew Tyree Neal and her two sisters (Charlene and Darlene) along with Ms Honey continue on as "Tyree Neal and the Jackie Neal Band". The band and Tyree can be seen performing from Florida to Texas. |

“Cares about others, more than himself.”
That could be Earnie Johnson’s campaign slogan if he ever decided to get into politics or run office. Earnie Johnson (EJ) is well known throughout the industry because of all the people he has befriended. Originally from Louisiana, EJ moved to Dallas in 1968 and recorded his first record as “Little Earnie Johnson.” But don’t let that fool you. EJ stands more than six feet tall and his stature is the music business stretches even further . He is very well acquainted with such entertainers as Millie Jackson, Chuck Jackson, Bobby Blue Bland, Johnnie Taylor, and Z.Z. Hill just to name a few. He has interviewed just about everybody who is somebody in the music business EJ hosts his own radio show “Party Time” on KKDA-AM from 10PM – 12AM nightly, formatted with Blues, R&B and Southern Soul music. EJ says Steve Ladd, Tom Joyner, and Louisiana Red among others influenced his broadcasting style.

His track record speaks for himself. Mr. Frank-o Johnson is a songwriter, artist, producer and host of his own radio program. He’s worked for such great companies as Wishbone Productions in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, CBS Records, Warner Brothers, Stax Records, Motown and Capital Records. He has written over 1,000 records for many great artists such as the Temptations, Commodores, Aretha Franklin, Bobby Womack, The Supremes, Ray Charles, the late Little Milton, Denise LaSalle, Johnnie Taylor and his good friend Ernie Johnson (pictured left). He had three songs nominated for the Grammies that he wrote for Aretha Franklin. He was a staff songwriter for Motown and Malaco Records. In 2000, Frank-o created the first syndicated radio show that includes Southern Soul music. Now, Frank-o’s expertise is showing through once again with “Live in Atlantic City.” |
