Down Home Blues Festival - Huntsville, AL PDF Print E-mail
This past Memorial weekend in Huntsville, AL was the setting for the famous Down Home Blues Festival. And as expected the the show was a raving success! The show started a little late as a transformer failed and power had to be restored. Simone De set the pace then LJ Echols followed by Dave Mack
By 4:30 PM the heavyweights started coming on. Stacy Mitchhart and his band did their thing for almost a hour and Stacy played the guitar, like nobody's business!
Denise LaSalle started stealing the show before she even Got started.

Rest In Peace - Ron "Ron Mac" McClaurin PDF Print E-mail
This past weekend Sir Charles and his band traveled home from Gadsden, Alabama on Monday Morning going to each home destination. Ron "Ron Mac" McClaurin, Kevin Jeffrys and Steve Gunn each were headed back to Memphis, Tennessee. While driving home the un-expected happen.. the front wheel based and tire rod - slid completely off the van, making the van spin and roll for 100 yards ejecting Ron from the van. As the medic's arrived approx. 6:00 am Monday morning announcing the death of Ron McClaurin.

Fatal Auto Accident Kills Sir Charles Jones' Keyboard Player PDF Print E-mail
All of the details of the Auto accident which occured last night (Sunday May 14, 2006) but we do know that Sir Charles' New band were on their way back the Memphis, Tn., when one of the front tires blew out and caused the van they were traveling in to go off the road. Several members were injured but, one member Ron Mack, the keyboard player, was killed.

50 Nominees to Attend Blues Music Awards PDF Print E-mail
So far close to 50 nominees have confirmed their attendance at the Blues Music Awards May 11 at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee on May 11. The presenting sponsor for the 2006 Blues Music Awards is the Gibson family of products.
Those attending the event will be hangin’ with Tab Benoit, Elvin Bishop, Mookie Brill, Big George Brock, Nora Jean Bruso, DuWayne Burnside, Sam Carr, Tommy Castro, Shemekia Copeland, Rich Del Grosso Billy Gibson, Zac Harmon, Denise LaSalle, Magic Slim and the Teardrops, Janiva Magness, Bob Margolin, Big James Montgomery, Nick Moss & the Flip Tops, Paul Oscher, Calvin Owens, Sista Monica Parker, Rod Piazza & the Mighty Flyers, Bobby Purify, Ann Rabson, Bobby Rush, Mem Shannon, Eddie Shaw, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, Bob Stroger, Otis Taylor, Eddie Turner, Michael “Mudcat” Ward and Kim Wilson. Most of these folks will be on stage at one time or another. We also expect some very special guests joining in the festivities.
