Bobby “Blue” Bland Headlines Blues At The Coliseum
A nearly capacity crowd filled the Mississippi Coliseum Friday night December 29, 2006 to hear legends of the blues sing songs that cause them to remember the pain of unrequited love and good times that make the memories of youth so sweet.
The legendary Bobby “Blue” Bland, with his growling voice garnered the respect due a pioneer of the blues as the crowd rose to their feet to pay tribute to the last of a dying breed. It was as if the crowd felt a sense of urgency when Bland took the stage to show him their love for his contributions to a genre of music that many profess to sing but few can deliver. |

Yep, it's official! The next Jus' Blues Awards will be held next year in Memphis, Tn., August 16th, 2007. This event will be at the famed Historical Daisy Theatre located on Beale Street.
The Jus Blues Music Awards Show is a Tribute To The Legends of the Blues. In past years - Jus Blues Awards has honored such Blues greats as Lowell Fulson, Aaron''T Bone' Walker, Memphis Minnie, Percy Mayfield, Little Milton and many others. These legends all have expressed the pain and agony of their lives through their music.

Other artists getting Jus Blues Awards recognition includes: Denise LaSalle, Bobby Rush, Millie Jackson, Clarence Carter, Theodis Ealey, Trudy Lynn, William Bell, Lucky Peterson, Marvin Sease, Sandra Hall, Willie Hill and Sir Charles Jones.

Our newest representative Mandisa Dhlamini, lives in London and is a singer, songwriter, playwrite and a promoter. She hosts various events around London and Mandisa is also the founder, promoter and resident of “Organic”. "It is brand spanking new but in already 3 weeks has become a bit of a buzz around town, which the whole Organic family is very excited about, " Mandisa tells the Chittlin Circuit. |

James Brown, the dynamic, pompadoured "Godfather of Soul," died early today, his agent said. Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia in Atlanta on Sunday, said his agent, Frank Copsidas, but the cause of his death still is uncertain. "We really don't know at this point what he died of," he said. |

The "Godfather Of Soul" was hospitalized Saturday (Dec. 23, 2006) afternoon when his dentist detected that someting was wrong with the 73 year old singer.
After being amitted to Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia it was discovered that Mr Brown had pneumonia.
The Chittlin Circuit spoke with Charlie Bobbit (James Brown's close friend) and he assured us (Chittlin Circuit) that Mr. Brown is not in intensive care and is improving.
